Keep your next work priorities on a sticky note widget

Keep the next few actions visible between meetings and messages. A work-priorities widget is useful for the small part of your plan you want in front of you, while the full project stays in your existing workspace.

How to do it

  1. Choose the next deliverable

Look at your existing project plan and decide what you can move forward now. Write an action rather than only a project name.

  2. Create Work priorities

Make a short checklist in Sticky Widgets with two or three actions. Avoid copying confidential client details into a visible note.

  3. Put it on your work Home Screen

Add a widget beside the apps you use for work and select this note. Keep the most actionable row near the top.

  4. Update at a natural break

After a meeting or work block, check what is finished and replace outdated items. Keep the project’s authoritative status in its usual tool.

A concrete work list

  • Draft the proposal opening
  • Send the revised mockup
  • Prepare three review questions

Show the action, not the whole project

A widget saying ‘Website’ is a label. A widget saying ‘Draft the contact-page copy’ is an instruction. The difference matters when you pick up the phone and need to know what to do next.

Keep dependencies, assignments, attachments, and the longer discussion in your project tool. Sticky Widgets does not import or sync project-manager tasks automatically.

Treat a visible note as visible information

A Home Screen can be seen during a screen share or by someone beside you. Use shorthand that makes sense to you without exposing a customer name, credential, private number, or sensitive instruction.

Lock Screen pinning makes information visible before the phone is unlocked. If the note is private, keep it off that surface and use a less revealing reminder instead.

Refresh the list when the work changes

A priority widget is only useful while its priorities are current. Review it at the beginning of the day or after a meeting changes the plan.

If an item is no longer the next action, rewrite it or remove it from the short list. You do not need to archive a whole note every time a work block ends; keeping a named note makes its widget selection stable.

Common questions

Does this connect to my team’s project manager?

No. This guide uses a personal note you write and update manually.

Can I put the same priorities on my iPad?

Yes, with iCloud available on devices using the same Apple Account. Set up and select the widget independently on each device.

Can I use a notification for a meeting follow-up?

Premium scheduled reminders can alert you at a chosen time. Use your calendar for meeting scheduling and authoritative deadlines.
