Sync your sticky notes between iPhone and iPad

Keep the same note on your own iPhone and iPad through iCloud. Sync handles note content; each device’s widget placement and selected note still need their own setup.

iCloud sync is free. It is for devices signed in to the same Apple Account, rather than collaborative editing between different people.

How to do it

  1. Check the account on both devices

Confirm your iPhone and iPad use the same Apple Account for iCloud. Give both devices an internet connection.

  2. Check iCloud availability

In system settings, confirm iCloud is available to Sticky Widgets. Check account or storage warnings before assuming the note failed to save.

  3. Verify inside the app first

Create a short test note on one device. Open Sticky Widgets on the other device and allow time for the note to appear.

  4. Select it on each Home Screen

Add or edit each device’s widget and choose the synced note. Compare the note text in the app before judging the widget display.

Separate note sync from widget setup

A note appearing in Sticky Widgets on both devices shows that its content is available on both. It does not mean the second device already has a widget selecting that note.

Choose the note in each widget’s settings. You can use a compact widget on iPhone and a larger one on iPad while both show the same underlying content.

Use a small test to locate the problem

If the second app does not show a new test note, check the account, connectivity, iCloud access, and any storage warnings. If both apps show it but one widget does not, check that widget’s selection and refresh behavior.

This distinction helps support investigate the right path. Describe whether the discrepancy is between two app libraries or between an app and its own widget.

Preserve notes while investigating

Do not begin with deleting the app, signing out of iCloud, or disabling sync. Those changes can make it harder to understand which copy contains your current text.

Keep a copy of important content and contact support when the account setup looks right but notes still disagree. Include device models, system versions, and a simple example without sensitive information.

Common questions

Can I sync with another person’s Apple Account?

The supported workflow here is your own devices using the same Apple Account. It is not a shared-note invitation system.

Is sync part of Premium?

Basic iCloud sync is included in the free app.

Should I reinstall to fix a missing note?

Start with account, app-library, and widget-selection checks. Preserve important content and seek support before destructive troubleshooting.

Need a hand?
