How to do it
Choose one session’s work
Define what you can reasonably finish in the next session. Break ‘Study chemistry’ into a reading, a practice task, and a review task.
Write a list note
Create ‘Study session’ in Sticky Widgets and put each action in its own list row. Include a chapter or exercise range when useful.
Place it on your study device
Add a widget to the iPhone or iPad you use for study and select the note. Use a larger placement if the text needs room.
Review before the next session
Check off what you completed. Edit remaining items into a fresh, realistic plan instead of simply adding more work to an old list.
A study session example
- Read chapter 4, pages 52–61
- Solve practice problems 1–3
- Write two questions for class
Example text to enter in your own note.
Keep instructions visible and material elsewhere
Use the widget for what to do next, rather than the content you are trying to learn. A complete lecture transcript or a long set of definitions is difficult to read in a small Home Screen placement.
The reference material can remain in your textbook, document app, or notes library. Your sticky note can simply say which section to open and what to produce after reading it.
Make the session measurable
A task such as ‘Solve problems 1–3’ tells you when to stop. ‘Revise’ leaves that decision open. Clear finish lines help you judge whether your planned session fits the time you have.
Adjust the list if one problem takes much longer than expected. The goal is a useful plan for this session, not a growing record of everything you feel you should study.
Use iPhone and iPad deliberately
If you use both devices with the same Apple Account, iCloud can sync the study note. Select it independently in each device’s widget settings.
This is a personal checklist, not a class assignment manager, shared study group, timer, or flashcard system. Use those tools when their specific capabilities are what you need.
Common questions
Can Sticky Widgets remind me when a session starts?
Premium includes scheduled reminders. A Home Screen checklist by itself does not schedule a notification.
Does the app provide study timers or flashcards?
This guide uses text and checklist notes. It does not describe a timer or flashcard feature.
Can classmates edit the same checklist?
The described sync is for your own devices on the same Apple Account, not collaboration across accounts.
