How to do it
Create a note
Download and open Sticky Widgets. Add a note, give it a recognizable name, and write something short, such as ‘Bring the library books.’ Leave the editor when you are finished.
Add its widget
Open the iPhone widget gallery from the Home Screen edit menu. Find Sticky Widgets, choose a size, and add it to your Home Screen.
Choose the note
Touch and hold the new widget, choose Edit Widget, then select your note in the Note field. Tap outside the widget to finish.
Edit from your Home Screen
Tap the note itself to open its editor. Change the text, leave the editor, and return to the Home Screen to see your note.
Start with a note you will actually read
A sticky note works best when it carries one small job. A next step, a short errand list, or the sentence you keep looking up is easier to use than a whole page of text.
Try a medium widget for a short sentence. For a longer checklist, use a larger widget or shorten the list to the items you need next. You can add another widget for a different note.
The widget and the note are separate
Adding a widget places a window onto a note; selecting the Note field decides which note that window shows. If you have several notes, check this selection rather than repeatedly creating new copies.
Removing a Home Screen widget removes its placement. Manage the note itself inside Sticky Widgets. If a note is blank or missing from a widget, first check that it still exists in the app and that the widget points to it.
A visible reminder is different from an alert
A Home Screen note is something you notice when you look at your phone. It does not automatically send a notification at a chosen time. Scheduled reminders and Lock Screen pinning are separate Premium features.
Common questions
Can I put more than one sticky note on my iPhone?
Yes. Add another Sticky Widgets widget and choose a different note for it. Unlimited Home Screen widgets are included in the free app.
Can I display an Apple Notes note here?
Create or copy the text into a Sticky Widgets note. Sticky Widgets displays its own notes; it does not connect a widget to an Apple Notes document.
Why is my new widget empty?
Open Sticky Widgets once, confirm your note has text, and check the widget’s Note selection. The troubleshooting guides below explain what to check next.
